01
Añejo
Mexican Restaurant inHell's Kitchen
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Añejo is a classy yet fun and casual Mexican restaurant with modern small plates and innovative co*cktails. This restaurant was created by the Top Chef season 7 contestant, Angelo Sosa. So, it’s no surprise Añejo is a culinary work of art and is even Michelin recommended for the best Mezcal bars in NYC. You must try the unique ‘Traviesa Montelobos’ with Mezcal, fresh grapefruit, lime, Fresno infused agave, Aperol, and spicy salt when visiting.
Each small plate is a flavorful culinary experience, but their top dishes include the tender and smoky ‘octopus plate’ and the ‘Drunken Lamb Barbacoa.’ These plates are modern but include elements of Mexican food that bring your taste buds for a ride.
02
Balthazar
French Restaurant inSoHo
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The stylish restaurant serves traditional French cuisine. Outside the menu you can also choose from the seafood bar and the delicacies from the Balthazar Bakery. The breakfast is legendary and the home-baked bread is especially convincing. By the way, you can get a lot more of it in the adjacent bakery.
03
Brooklyn Diner
American Restaurant inTheatre District
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Even if the name doesn’t suggest it, the diner is really close to Times Square! The Brooklyn Diner is a diner like it is in a book: both from the outside and the inside. Try the pastrami or the French toast.

Bubby's Tribeca
American Restaurant inTribeca
Our Highlight
Credits to Bubby'sAdd to myNYadded
When it comes to the best brunch in Tribeca NYC, Bubby’s is a neighborhood diner that offers a unique experience. From 8 am to 4 pm daily, indulge in their mouthwatering, cooked-from-scratch dishes. Don’t miss their must-try Crab Cake Benedict: perfectly cooked crab cakes topped with rich béarnaise sauce, served with sautéed spinach and your choice of home fries or salad.
Feeling adventurous? Though it’s not one of your run-of-the-mill breakfast sandwiches, try the Crab Cake Sandwich for a delightful twist on brunch. Bubby’s restaurant has been delighting locals for over 30 years with their exceptional food. So, make sure to visit Bubby’s in Tribeca and experience their delicious brunch for yourself!

Carroll Place
Italian Restaurant inGreenwich Village
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Carroll Place on Bleecker Street has an exciting concept, as it’s both a gastropub and wine bar where you can enjoy Italian-inspired food. It’s one of our favorite spots when we go for brunch in New York. The atmosphere is relaxed, the vibe is always good and the food is delicious!
Our favorites have been the pizza with truffles and the Pasta Vongole. The fact that the pizza oven is wood fired gives the pizzas a taste like a pizza should have! By the way, next time try the Carroll Place Burger with Gorgonzola. This one looked mega delicious too!
My tip: if you want to go for brunch, be sure to reserve a table in advance!
06
Cathedrale
French Restaurant inEast Village
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The imposing Cathedrale restaurant will be doing Thanksgiving their way this year (located in the MOXY East Village). Their menu will include favorites such as autumn squash with pomegranate vinaigrette, rotisserie heritage turkey, brussels sprouts, golden raisin chestnut stuffing, pumpkin pie, and much more.
07
Dante NYC
Bar inGreenwich Village
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
When it comes to the best Negroni in town, there is hardly a way around Dante NYC. They are an institution in New York and have been serving their Negroni since 1915 (it’s an Italian restaurant with a small bar). You find it at the corner of Greenwich Village, SoHo and Hudson Square – here we are super-often when we are on the road in New York.

Double Chicken Please

Double Chicken Please by Emmanuel RosarioAdd to myNYadded
The Double Chicken Please is a co*cktail bar & restaurant in the Lower East Side and definitely worth a visit. The co*cktails are incredibly tasty, creative and you’ll love the atmosphere too. Their specialty is co*cktails that are inspired by dishes – so there are co*cktails like Cold Pizza, Key Lime Pie or Japanese Cold Noodle.

Drift In
Sea Food Restaurant inWest Village
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The Drift In is one of my latest new discoveries in New York: it’s located right on the Hudson River promenade in the West Village. They serve oysters and the best lobster roll in town – no wonder, the team behind the Drift In is the same as at my beloved PILOT Brooklyn and GRAND BANKs. Just great!

Eataly
Other Restaurants inFinancial District
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
In 2010, Eataly was opened in New York by master chef Mario Batali. The pizza is very remeniscent of pizza and the wine selection is huge. You will also find a large selection of ecellent pasta, salads, and sandwiches. In terms of price, it has to be said in advance that a pizza starts at $15 and can cost $25. Nevertheless, this Italian food market is for me one of the most beautiful and best in the city!

Gelso & Grand
Italian Restaurant inLittle Italy
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The Gelso & Grand is a successful mix of a restaurant (with excellent pizza), a bar and a small outdoor area. It is not only super stylishly furnished, but also has typically Italian good espresso. The audience is colourful: from families with children to couples and business espresso guests.

Grand Banks
Sea Food Restaurant inTribeca
Our Highlight

Water, a great view of Manhattan and a great atmosphere – the location is simply the best. You are sitting on a historic ship called F/V Sherman Zwicker on the Hudson River and can enjoy New York from the water when the weather is fine. The place also serves great drinks and seafood.

Industry Kitchen
American Restaurant inFinancial District
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The restaurant offers typical American cuisine with modern influences. Fresh ingredients form the basis for the dishes. Salads, pizza and freshly grilled meat combined with first-class wines make a visit to the Industry Kitchen highly recommended. Beer lovers and co*cktail fans will get their money’s worth here, because the selection is great.
17
Jun-Men Ramen Bar
Asian Restaurant inChelsea
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The Jun-Men is one of the best restaurants for ramen in the city. By the way, Jun-Men means “noodles, straight up”. The secret of a really good ramen dish is the broth, which is sometimes reduced for hours and in the end is really “concentrated” and delicious. Absolutely sensational and once you have tasted it, you will understand why we rave about it so much.
18
La Mela
Italian Restaurant inLittle Italy
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
A good address if you want to go out for dinner in a relatively relaxed atmosphere. The food comes from the hands of a real Italian family. The mussels are highly recommended.
19

Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery
French Restaurant inNoHo
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Never leave NoHo without stopping by Lafayette Grand Bakery. Great vibes, authentic French scenery, plus amazing food will amaze you for sure. Lafayette is an everyday French restaurant bringing the spirit of French dining to the NoHo neighborhood. They are open in the morning, noon and night, so you can join them either for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
My favorite dishes (it’s very hard to only mention one) are the lemon pancakes, the chicken salad, and the egg sandwich. Oh, and their fruit tarts are very delicious as well.
Other than Lafayette Grand Bakery there are many other smaller coffee shops and bakeries in the area. Just by simply exploring the neighborhood, you will come across a few. Walk-in, join the locals and take a break from sightseeing. NoHo is the perfect place to do so.

Lakeside Restaurant am Loeb Boathouse
Café inUpper West Side
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The Lakeside Restaurant of the Loeb Boathouse is located at the northeastern tip of Central Park Lake right on the waterfront and is one of the most idyllic restaurants in New York City.
Unfortunately it will be closed from October 2022 on.
23
Little Prince
French Restaurant inSoHo
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
For the first time we noticed the French restaurant in summer: the windows can be opened completely and because it is so small, you have a window seat & table all to yourself, so to speak. Super-romantic and that’s why it immediately landed on our list of the most romantic restaurants in NYC.

Lombardi's Pizza
Italian Restaurant inNolita
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Lombardi’s is a pizza restaurant in Nolita and prides itself in being the first pizzeria in the United States. Here you can eat really well and enjoy a welcoming Italian atmosphere. Also make sure to try the Meatballs!
25
Los Tacos No. 1
Mexican Restaurant inTheatre District
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Los Tacos No. 1 in Times Square is rightly very popular: in the “standing snack bar” everything revolves around tacos & quesadillas. Wonderfully traditional, cheap and really delicious. What’s special about it? The handmade tacos taste like in Mexico, because instead of wheat flour (as it is unfortunately often done for cost reasons) real corn flour is used for production. My tip: Take the tacos with grilled cactus!
26
Manhatta
French Restaurant inFinancial District
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The restaurant Manhatta is one of the best restaurants in town and is perfect if you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion. Not only is the food here at the highest level – so are you! Located on the 60th floor, it offers you a magnificent view of the city!

Móle
Mexican Restaurant inWest Village
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Looking for a large variety of tequilas to try? Móle is known for having over 125 different types of tequilas, all made with 100% blue agave. Although they serve many of the classics, the house special drinks include ‘El Diablo’ and ‘El Vampiro,’ two spicy co*cktails with Don Reyes Tequila.
Móle is also, of course, famous for its móle, which is imported from Mexico. The móle is handmade by Doña Emelia for complete authenticity and then used to enhance the flavor of the dishes. The chicken ‘enchiladas de mole poblanos’ are absolutely amazing and the best item on the menu.
28
Pastrami Queen
Other Restaurants inUpper East Side
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Besides the Katz’s delicatessen, the Pastrami Queen is one of our favourite pastrami shops. The sandwiches are kosher, incredibly tasty and really thickly topped. The shop has remained unchanged for almost 30 years and stands for very good dishes.
29
Pier A Harbor House
Sea Food Restaurant inThe Battery
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
CLOSED
The Pier A Harbor House extends over two levels and also offers a large outdoor area. The restaurant area has been completely restored and shines in new splendor. On the second floor you will also find the co*cktail bar. Here you will find seafood dishes, sandwiches and tacos on the menu. Prices range from about $15 to $25 and co*cktails cost about $12 to $15. Happy Hour is from Monday to Friday from 15.00 to 19.00.
30
Red Rooster
American Restaurant inHarlem & Washington Heights
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
The Red Rooster is an absolute institution and an integral part of the Harlem community. Located near the famous Apollo Theatre, the restaurant named after the legendary Harlem Speakeasy was located at 138th Street and 7th Avenue. This pleasant, colourful atmosphere was to be revived with the Red Rooster – and it really succeeded in creating a great atmosphere. The place does not only offer soul food but also cooking classes and live music.
31
Rubirosa
Italian Restaurant inNolita
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Already from the outside the restaurant looks like a typical Italian restaurant. You will feel completely at home: there are great red wines, the atmosphere is pleasant and you are definitely among locals. The Rubirosa is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in town, because the food is fantastic. The pasta and also the starters (for example grilled calamari) remind you of Italy – not to mention the pizza.
If you are looking for a late afternoon glass of wine with some snacks or a quality evening meal this is definitely a good choice. There is also a pizza hour, where – you guessed it – they sell 2 pizzas for $16!
32
Serafina Broadway
Italian Restaurant inMidtown Manhattan
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
I love the restaurants of Serafina! There are now more than 10 spots in New York where you can enjoy great Italian food. The pizza is legendary, each of the Serafina restaurants is beautifully styled and offers a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The burrata and heart-shaped lobster ravioli are unbelievably delicious. I’ve had several pizzas, all of which were delicious. I highly recommend both the simple Margherita pizza and the Portofino pizza with pesto & pine nuts!
33
Super Taste
Asian Restaurant inChinatown
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
Here it can quickly get crowded, the shop is really super small. Super Taste isprobably the best place to visit in Chinatown NYC if you are looking for some authentic and great quality noodles. The amazing food is reason alone to visit but with the amazing prices on offer, this is a no-brainer to get a quick and delicious bite to eat on your way through Chinatown.
Make sure to try the pork belly bao – one of our favorites!
34
The Dutch Restaurant
American Restaurant inSoHo
Our Highlight

Villa Mosconi
Italian Restaurant inGreenwich Village
Our Highlight
Add to myNYadded
If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant with real vintage charm, you have to go to Villa Mosconi! This restaurant has been around for over 40 years and is still run by the same family.
Villa Mosconi restaurant offers authentic Italian food in a lovely ambiance and it’s family friendly and welcoming. No matter what (homemade) pasta you order, it’s guaranteed to be delicious. Another highlight for us was the Veal Milanese. And the best part? The prices are really reasonable!
For me, Villa Mosconi is one of the best Italian restaurants in New York, because we were not disappointed during any of our visits!
38
& Son
Steak Restaurant inWest Village
Add to myNYadded
The & Son Restaurant is a steak speakeasy ( “steakeasy” for short) located in an old townhouse in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Their menu features steak dinners that consist of several courses. With each course, you can choose between at least two options. In addition to delicious, top-quality steaks, there are also vegetarian options on the menu.
On Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm you can stop by for brunch. How about a Lobster Benedict, for example? The lobster meat and boiled eggs taste just sensational with the hollandaise sauce! You’d rather have something sweet? Then try the French toast with berries and whipped cream! Add a few mimosas and the brunch is perfect!

1803 NYC
Other Restaurants inTribeca
Add to myNYadded
Are you yearning for a New Orleans adventure but stuck in the Big Apple? No worries! Swing by 1803 in Tribeca and treat yourself to a taste of Cajun-Creole cuisine. While it’s not a bottomless brunch spot, it’s one of the best boozy brunch destinations in NYC.
Feast on their Crawfish Cake Benedict or Norwegian Eggs, and you’ll feel like you’ve hit the French Quarter jackpot. Add in a live band on occasion and free flowing brunch co*cktails and you’ve got an unforgettable brunch experience.

A Taste of Magic
American Restaurant inHell's Kitchen
Add to myNYadded
When it’s the Halloween season, there’s no shortage of witches, wizards, and warlocks wandering about. That’s why A Taste of Magic is one of our favorite ways to celebrate Halloween in NYC.
This traveling experience takes place at restaurants around New York, bringing the thrills and intrigue of close-up magic to some of the city’s finest dining. Plus, it’s a family-friendly, all-ages way to get into the season. Each ticket includes the magic acts, the dinner, and the entertainment, and the two seating times (5pm and 8pm) fit perfectly for those packed New York schedules.
Their current shows take place at Docks, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, and Gossip. You can find out more about A Taste of Magic and make reservations for yourself at the official page.

A10 Kitchen
American Restaurant inEast Village
Add to myNYadded
Looking for a budget-friendly brunch spot in the East Village? A10 Kitchen, located right by Tompkins Square Park is where it’s at! I cannot stress enough that the prices are unbeatable for this part of town. In fact, all of their dishes are under $20 and the crafty co*cktails won’t set you back more than $15.
And hey, if you’re planning a boozy brunch with pals, you can all chip in for a pitcher of their scrumptious brunch co*cktails, talk about a steal! As for food, you can’t go wrong with their classic offerings. My personal favorite? The B.E.C Sammie. This delicious breakfast sandwich is served on brioche bread with crispy bacon, perfectly fried eggs, and Irish cheddar cheese.
42
ABC Kitchen
American Restaurant inGramercy
Add to myNYadded
The ABC Kitchen serves Slow Food – the opposite of fast food and a declaration of love for our planet. Only the freshest ingredients, supplied by local farmers, are put on the plate. The dishes change seasonally and are free of pesticides, antibiotics, hormones and genetic engineering. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and the service.
43
ABCV
Vegetarian Restaurant inGramercy
Add to myNYadded
ABCV is a plant-based restaurant that features many vegan dishes, in addition to being fully vegetarian. The spot is decorated elegantly but with a modern twist. There are golden chandeliers, among other handing lights, that provide lighting from above. And the space features many light, pastel colors.
Although ABCV serves everything from ice cream to tomato soup, they’re often praised for their dips. Their green hummus, in particular, seems to be a fan favorite and it is served with whole-grain pita.
44
Amelie UWS
Other Restaurants inUpper West Side
Add to myNYadded
Amelie, or as locals fondly call it, “La Petite Amélie,” offers a charming, intimate brunch experience from 12 pm to 2:45 pm, Friday through Sunday. Boasting a Michelin Bib Gourmand rating, this French-inspired haven on Amsterdam Avenue is worth a special trip. Just be warned that deciding between the classics, like the poached Eggs Norwegian and their innovative creations might pose a challenge.
But trust me, after a couple of mimosas, you’ll find it easier to give into temptation, be it a sumptuous charcuterie board or letting brunch transition effortlessly into lunch or dinner. If you want my recommendation – start your meal with the warm, pistachio-crusted goat cheese ball. For mains, either the fluffy brioche French toast or the juicy Amelie burger will hit the spot. And for the perfect finale, treat yourself to their heavenly vanilla crème brûlée. Bon appétit indeed!

Each small plate is a flavorful culinary experience, but their top dishes include the tender and smoky ‘octopus plate’ and the ‘Drunken Lamb Barbacoa.’ These plates are modern but include elements of Mexican food that bring your taste buds for a ride.

Even if the name doesn’t suggest it, the diner is really close to Times Square! The Brooklyn Diner is a diner like it is in a book: both from the outside and the inside. Try the pastrami or the French toast.

Bobwhite Lunch and Supper Counter

Bobwhite counters are known for their fried chicken, which is particularly juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Coleslaw is sensational and the chicken is served with a homemade spicy BBQ sauce and honey. The menu is small and manageable, but if you’re hungry for good Southern fried chicken, there’s no way around it.
